Meters for Trees is PayByPhone’s initiative to swap parking hardware for trees.
Launched in the UK in June 2019, and North America in 2024, our Meters for Trees initiative helps forward-thinking municipalities and parking operators reduce their costly parking hardware in favor of a cashless parking service. In return, trees are planted in the parking operator’s name for the removal of parking hardware.
The benefits:
Reduce hardware costs by limiting PCI obligations and EMV requirements- Cashless parking affords convenience to drivers
- Contribute to a greener legacy for future generations by planting trees
How it works
For the removal of parking hardware, we will plant trees in the name of participating parking operators.
