City of Vancouver

With 157 people per hectare, the City of Vancouver has one of the highest population densities in North America. The challenge was to use technology to effectively manage and enforce its 8,000 on-street parking spaces and improve customer service by offering a wide range of payment choices and features. As well as offsetting or reducing the rising costs of infrastructure operation and maintenance.

Islington

The London Borough of Islington chose to run a trial of Verrus’ PayByPhone service under the Partners In Parking (PIP) contract. The trial took place across 2,000 spaces in the southern part of the borough and was launched in December 2008. The trial was a huge success – a decision was taken some nine months later to extend the service across the borough on a full contract basis.

“Our students really like the text message reminders and the ability to add time from anywhere and avoid possible citations," said Brian Brand, Manager of Parking Enforcement at Texas Tech University. "In addition, this system has made things much more convenient for us to operate. We spend a lot less time maintaining pay machines and processing credit cards manually."
